Preparing students for a school production is a very exciting time and the benefits to students life-long. Ben has first-hand knowledge of this, spending almost 20 years teaching classroom music in secondary schools.

CASE STUDY - Sound and Lighting for 'Les Miserables'  Marlwood School, South Gloucesterhire 2024

A fabulous production of Les Miserables with staff and students at Marlwood School, South Gloucestershire.  BHWH Productions delighted to be supporting the school with all their tech requirements.

• 10 channels of radio mics using the latest Sennheiser EW-D systems with antenna distribution system for excellent audio quality and coverage

• Full Yamaha PA system with FOH incorporating DXR12 main speakers, DXR10 fills and DXR18 subs

• 32 channel digital mixing desk with AES50 connected stage box

• Stage monitors for performers on stage

• QLAB software for SFX and music management

• 4 way comms system for sound, lighting, stage manager and backstage

• Various LED and tungsten lighting fixtures including Showtec Performer Q6s

Students were also involved in producing a multi camera recording using the following video production hardware.

• ATEM Extreme Switcher

• Canon XA15 cameras

• Blackmagic Design Hyperdeck

• Dual video monitor

The visit also involved training of staff and students so that they have the skills needed to operate sound and lighting desks.  This is something I offer as part of the tech delivery - it is important that students are immersed in the theatrical productionin all technical aspects.
